Enough About Tom Davis Already
Why is everybody making a big deal about this memo Rep. Tom Davis sent out to his fellow Republicans after their 3rd straight special election defeat? If this guy’s such a tactical political genius, where was this memo months ago? There have been literally hundreds of polls released in the past 3+ years saying that the GOP brand name has been tarnished, but Tom Davis types it up in a neat little memo following defeat, after defeat, after defeat and it’s a revelation.
Tom Davis got elected to Congress in 1994, when a Democrat couldn’t get their own mother to vote for them. Now, when the shoe’s on the other foot, he’s jumping ship. He’s an opportunist who looks out for his own best interests and those of his party first and foremost. Show me that Davis didn’t buy the Karl Rove mularky in 2004 that Republicans were in the process of some sort of historic once-in-a-generation realignment. I guess the fact that Republicans are stupid enough to think Tom Davis is god’s gift to political strategery says a lot about the current situation they’re in.
Oh yeah, and the coup de grâce to this manifesto? He repeatedly mispells Sen. Barack Obama’s name. At least it proves his point that Dubya’s influence on the GOP is sweeping.

It’s perfectly fine for a presidential candidate to be referred to as a “tar baby”, there’s nothing wrong or offensive with that term.
Lucius, who are you talking to? Did you even read this post?
