Earth to Attorney General McDonnell. Come in Bob.
Our presumptive GOP nominee for Governor in 2009, VA Attorney General Bob McDonnell, could learn a thing or two from the Buckeye State. In nine months, Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann successfully shut down a scam employment agency in his state called Global Personnel.
Basically they make you pay several hundred dollars up front with the promise of placing you in a job after the payment is received. But after you give them your bank account information….surprise! No job. Just the promise that something might come available at some point. Nice way to treat people who are already unemployed to begin with and are trying hard to change that.
The person who owned that company, Karla O’Leary, has been investigated here in the commonwealth by WAVY-TV in Hampton Roads for the past decade. Her Virginia company was originally called Jobs Plus, but after the first local expose O’Leary changed it to Virginia Personnel.
Ohio’s Attorney General succeeded where Virginia failed. It only took nine months to shut down O’Leary’s similar business in Columbus Ohio called Global Personnel.
“In our opinion it was all just a scam,” says Michael Sliwinski, who’s an Assistant State Attorney General under Marc Dann.
“We are blessed because Marc has made it a priority to crack down on consumer fraud,” Sliwinski says.
Sliwinski convinced an Ohio Judge to issue a Temporary Restraining Order against Global Personnel, shutting them down even though O’Leary’s side argued her signed contracts make it clear that payment is non-refundable and not liable if the client fails to receive employment.
But what can we really expect from a guy that learned law from Pat Robertson’s Regent University (originally called CBN University…as in Christian Broadcasting Network)? In addition to being founded by a vile, disgusting human being, U.S. News & World Report named it a tier 4 law school… it’s lowest rating.

Bob McDonnell and his Regent Law cronies deserve nothing more than to exit the political scene with their conservative ideals in check as being detached from the public’s desires and expectations for a functional society. McDonnell has destroyed the Attorney General’s office by making it hyper political rather than a functional asset to state government. McDonnell is so consumed with his run for Governor that his office fails to carry out its day to day duties effectively.
I would never vote for or consider a Regent Law Graduate or an attorney general with a track record of failure. It is entirely legitimate to question McDonnell’s educational background, his ties to Pat, and what he has NOT accomplished while on the clock as Attorney General (Attorney General drafted bill for abusive driver fees … ruled … unconstitutional … what is that REGENT degree worth … to the taxpayers, it certainly has been costly!!!)
George Allen destroyed his political future and is never to emerge again as a viable political force in Virginia …McDonnell is a frightening individual with writing on the wall indicative that he is an individual the Commonwealth should learn from insofar as being incompetent and with a mission unhealthy to the society at large … Didn’t we learn this lesson with the US Attorney General stacking Bush’s crew into the legal arm of the US Government?
There is dirt on McDonnell doing the same, including keeping a fellow Regent Law Graduate on his staff as assistant attorney general after the same person was involved in at least two high profile and published scandals while elected to the school board…One involved PORN the other THREATENING A TEACHER after the teacher GRADED his SON marginally…Guess who is still in his position under Bob … Guess who is a fellow Regent Law Graduate … Guess what, you are warned. Bob McDonnell is a joke of a politician and, once viewed transparently, is nothing more than a self serving individual with a mission to invoke his will rather than the will of the people upon the people.
