TSA or T&A?

A few days ago I wrote about problems at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which is part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Only hours later a man named Jeff Ostermayer left a reply in the comment section directing readers to the official TSA blog, Evolution of Security. Mr. Ostermayer is the Assistant Press Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, and actually wrote the comment from the DHS itself. Prior to his current position under Secretary Chertoff, he was a legislative assistant for Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL). Yes, THAT Mark Foley.

Needless to say, as a public affairs spokesperson for the Department, Ostermayer has his work cut out for him.

TSAAP:

A Texas woman who said she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an airplane called Thursday for an apology by federal security agents and a civil rights investigation.

“I wouldn’t wish this experience upon anyone,” Mandi Hamlin said at a news conference. “My experience with TSA was a nightmare I had to endure. No one deserves to be treated this way.”

My hats off to whoever hired Jeffrey Ostermayer over at the DHS. Did they ever pick the right guy to deal with issues of a……. sensitive nature, I guess you’d call it.

One Response to “TSA or T&A?”

  1. I don’t get it… was Ostermayer involved in Foley besides just being on his staff? Or are you just mocking him for being on Foley’s staff?
