The Man Without a Face
For the third time in the past year, that I’m aware of, The Free Lance-Star has run the wrong picture next to Albert Pollard. This is the second time they’ve shown a picture of Sen. Richard Stuart (R-2 instead. Another time they ran a picture of convicted spy Jonathan Pollard. Is it really too [...]

More They Said It…
The great quotes just keep on coming. This time from Sen. Edd Houck (D-Spotsylvania) in defense of Gov. Kaine’s pre-kindergarten expansion:
Roanoke Times:
“It takes a lot of guts to start kicking around — politically — poor, 4-year-old children. Man, that’s leadership.”
It’s that type of “leadership” that got Senate Republicans where they are today, in the minority.

They Said It…
Last month Fox News aired a documentary on President George W. Bush’s last year in office titled, Fight to the Finish. In it, the host proclaims that Bush has given “some of the most eloquent and visionary speeches ever delivered by an American President.”
You simply can. not. make. this. stuff. up.

Brian Moran, Moving Alicia’s Law Forward
I’ll admit that I’m not looking forward to watching Sen. Creigh Deeds and Del. Brian Moran battle it out for the Democratic nomination for Governor next year. Having to choose between these two is not going to be easy. I’m a little bit partial to Deeds right now, but that really has nothing to do with Del. Moran. [...]

Pollard Has Huge $ Advantage Heading into Tuesday
James Martin over at RaisingKaine points out that Albert Pollard has a whopping 7:1 cash-on-hand advantage over Lee Anne Washington. It’s no accident that all of the top tier Republican candidates declined to run against Pollard for the vacant House seat. The question now is, how much does he win by? (assuming voters in the 99th remember there’s an [...]

Va. Senate Passes Motor-Fuels Tax Increase for Critical Road Maintenance
A bill that raises the motor-fuels tax 1-cent per gallon per year over the next five years has passed the Va. Senate by a vote of 25-15.
Bill sponsor Sen. Richard Saslaw (D-Fairfax) says the increase is necessary to maintain the Commonwealth’s roads.
The measure covers critical maintenance. It does not fund transportation improvements.
“We are gradually draining our construction budget [...]
