FXBG’s “Proxy Delegate” Albert Pollard Takes His Seat in the Va. House

pollard-swearing-in.jpgNews that Albert Pollard had been sworn-in at the Virginia House of Delegates was sunshine on (yesterday’s) cloudy day.

While disappointed (we) cannot call him Senator, Fred2Blue is nonetheless THRILLED to have Albert Pollard back in the Virginia General Assembly.

Last year, as both Stafford County Democratic chair and 28th District Democratic Party nominating chair, I got to know Albert well.  Actually, my nominating committee compadres on the Northern Neck and I worked hard, and in stealth, to pave the way for Albert’s exciting Senate run.  Working with him, marveling at his boundless energy and enthusiasm, gave us all the incentive to work harder, work smarter.

Unfortunately, we all know how things turned out on Election Day.  In the immortal words of Maxwell Smart, “(we) missed it by THAT much!”

Still, we’ll take the consolation prize.  It’s good to once again call him Delegate Pollard.

I’ve said this before:  Albert Pollard is our ”proxy” delegate.  While he does not serve constituencies in the immediate Fredericksburg area, he will ably represent (our) interests in Richmond.   And certainly, Albert Pollard knows to serve the people with reasoned middleness.  He is not beholden to monied interests or voices in one’s head.

Congratulations, again, Delegate Albert Pollard.
