and on the 8th day, God created….Rudy?

St. RudyFrom the Associated Press:

Actor Jon Voight, a product of Yonkers, N.Y., warmed up crowds by reminding them of how, under Giuliani, New York City was transformed into a much safer, cleaner and more livable city.

“God sent an angel, his name was Rudy Giuliani,” said Voight, adding: “He’s kind of a genius.”

Republicans are constantly criticizing Democrats for their ties to people in the entertainment industry, accusing them of having “Hollywood values.” But when won’t a high-profile Republican jump at the chance to surround themselves with people who pretend to be something they’re not for a living? Huckabee can’t go anywhere without Chuck Norris by his side…. so McCain counters with Sylvester Stallone. Whoop-de-do. I’m waiting for Romney to pull Steven Seagal out of his hat any day now.

  1. Hollywood Is for Republicans (its a secret)
    Ronald Reagan: movie star/sports announcer
Arnold Schwartzenegger: body builder/ movie star
Fred Gandy: Gopher on Love Boat turned congressman
    Sonny Bono:singer/entertainer turned congressman

A couple of years ago there was a large bill board on Route 1 (North of Route 610) that had some disparaging message about “Hollywood” values..It was bizarre but someone took the time and money to post it. Go figure.

  2. and you even forgot Fred Thompson!

Plus everyone’s favorite pedophile, Mark Foley, had a part in some crappy B-movie years ago. Sonny Bono’s daughter Mary, a Republican Congresswoman, gave Foley the nickname “Hollywood” because he spent so much time there.

  3. creepy as it is, Mary Bono was actually his wife, not his daughter.

and all we have is the guy from Orleans…at least he kept Bush from using his song

  4. Keep this handy when the “Hollywood values” emails/billboards start circulating. From USA Today:

Hollywood Republicans lining up for McCain, Giuliani

“On Jan. 31, immediately following the GOP debate at the Ronald Reagan library, McCain will headline a fundraiser at the home of MGM Chairman and CEO Harry Sloan.

A favorite of veteran entertainment and media moguls, McCain has received donations from Jerry Bruckheimer, Barry Diller, Kirk Kerkorian, Richard Parsons, Lorne Michaels and Brad Grey, and from a handful of character actors including Rip Torn and Dick Van Patten.

“McCain’s support in Hollywood goes back to the 2000 election, when he had so much backing from independents, and then in 2004, due to his friendship with John Kerry,” said Sloan.”
