Josh Marshall at TPM sums up tonights debate in California between Sens. Clinton & Obama this way:
The debate was a surprisingly substantive discussion of a number of issues that actually resonate in people’s lives. Which means it wasn’t really anything like a political debate.

President Bush delivered his last State of the Union last night. First, my hats off to Bush for selecting VA Tech’s Kevin Sterne to attend as a special guest. Outstanding decision by the President there. Also, someone pointed out that three of Speaker Pelosi’s guests, Gov. Kaine; DC Mayor Fenty; and Baltimore Mayor Dixon, all endorsed Obama [...]

Albert Pollard for Delegate
The recent spat between Democrats and Republicans in Richmond has drawn the ire of Albert Pollard, candidate for the House of Delegates. Pollard criticized the partisan upheaval that occurred in the chamber of the House of Delegates last week, stating the incident only furthered the disharmony between both parties and would achieve [...]

From the Associated Press:
Actor Jon Voight, a product of Yonkers, N.Y., warmed up crowds by reminding them of how, under Giuliani, New York City was transformed into a much safer, cleaner and more livable city.
“God sent an angel, his name was Rudy Giuliani,” said Voight, adding: “He’s kind of a genius.”
Republicans are constantly criticizing Democrats [...]

It’s not a big secret that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) toyed with the idea of running for President one day while she was first lady in the 90’s. After Sen. Carol Moseley-Braun (D-IL) lost re-election to the Senate in Clinton’s home state of Illinois in 1998, Hillary running to take back that seat in 2004 looked like [...]

Few things that the Clintons say about Obama applies to them.
How about the much-hyped issue of “experience?” Bill Clinton said that he, himself, didn’t run in 1988 because he wasn’t yet “experienced enough.”
From a CBS News story:
He was worried about rumors of infidelity, some of which were investigated by his own staff, and privately expressed [...]

NOTE: All I can say is that the ground in and around Albemarle County must be shaking violently this morning, because after what HoD leadership just pulled, Thomas Jefferson is surely spinning in his grave…
In a move that makes all of its previous acts of mishugoss (craziness) seem tame, the Republican leadership of the Va. House [...]

In a follow-up to my earlier post on pending legislation regarding predatory lenders; the greatest website known to man (aka the Virginia Public Access Project) has some rather interesting information regarding who’s taken money from the industry’s lobbyists. If you follow the money, it seems that a legislator’s rank in the General Assembly is just [...]

From Think Progress:
Opening his radio show with funeral music yesterday, Fox News host John Gibson callously mocked the death of actor Heath Ledger, calling him a “weirdo” with a “serious drug problem.”
Playing an audio clip of the iconic quote, “I wish I knew how to quit you” from Ledger’s gay romance movie Brokeback Mountain, Gibson [...]
