Richard Stuart, like many Republicans, made a contribution to Pollard for Delegate during Albert Pollard’s first tenure in the General Assembly. A few years later Stuart ran against Pollard as a “Life-Long Conservative Republican,” switched his position on abortion, and claimed that his opponent was “as liberal as they come.” Yeeeaaah. If you ever want to see what Senator-Elect Stuart looks like, just look up phony in the dictionary and you’ll see him smiling back at you.
Rumor has it that the Republican powers-that-be in Richmond may line up behind Austin Roberts, just like they did with Stuart earlier this year, to oppose Pollard. This time in the Feb. 19 special election for his old seat in the House. And, like Stuart, Roberts has also donated money to Pollard in the past. Twice as much in fact ($500 to $250).

Albert Pollard enjoys the support of many Virginia Republicans, but not ALL of them. You’d think they could find someone who doesn’t just oppose Pollard when it’s politically convenient? Who would want to vote for Benny Lambert if he ran against George Allen? How about giving voters, you know….a choice?
