Did you know that 17 year olds can vote in the Dec. 11 special election as long as they turn 18 by Nov. 4, 2008?!
That’s right, according to the registrar’s office who got the ruling from the Attorney General. Of course that means they only have until Dec. 4 to register.
There are 3 ways to [...]

Fox News: Putting Ratings Before Human Lives

Right now I’m looking at live coverage on the 3 major cable news outlets of the hostage situation at Hillary Clinton’s campaign office in Rochester, NH. Both CNN and MSNBC are not showing any live shots of the scene outside the building because the authorities don’t want to provide the bomber inside the with any [...]

Speaker Pelosi: Step Up for Forgit

On Wednesday, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) said that he will support Rob Wittman for a spot on the House Armed Services Committee in the event that he wins the CD-1 special election on Dec. 11. Obviously that’s not a guarantee, but it’s still welcome news to the Wittman campaign nonetheless.
When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) [...]

International law firm Troutman Sanders has been brought in by the local Howell political machine in the Mancini/Jett recount lawsuit. This is the same firm that represented now Attorney Gen. Okay, so here’s the context:

UPDATE III: I’ve never in my life seen someone as desperate, as Price Jett Jr. is, at getting elected to office. ANY office as a member of ANY party by ANY means necessary. From RK:
It has gone unreported that Price Jett, Jr. attended the Stafford Democratic Committee meeting in May seeking the Democratic nomination for Board of Supervisors that [...]

True, this is a little over 2 months old, but this blog is not even 2 weeks old….and this is just too relevant to [...]

This Holiday Season: Support Fredericksburg-Region Locally-Owned Businesses

Perhaps some of you have had this experience:  driving an out-of-town friend or relative around the Fredericksburg Region, (he/she) says:
“Geez, (e.g., North Stafford/ Fredericksburg/ Massaponax, etc.) looks just like (name of his/her exurban community), you’ve got all the big box and specialty stores, and national restuarant chains, that we have!”
It’s great having the big brands in our area: their hours [...]

Something to be Thankful For…

That we live in the good ol’ US of A. It seems like every problem we have over here is about 10 times as worse in some other part of the world. Take Venezuela for example, where a lawmaker tries to beat up a journalist who she accuses of saying something nasty about her deceased [...]
